Copper Pole Ground Plates

MATERIAL: CA-110 hard temper copper.

APPLICATION: For multigrounded neutral construction. Provides efficient, low resistance neutral ground at low cost. They are less expensive and easier to install than butt wrapping poles. Features four 3/16-inch nail holes, high pressure connectors for ground wire or optional braised pigtail. The bar type and the eye bolt type ground wire connectors are both designed to provide high pressure contact between the wire and the plate for a permanent low resistance connection. Both the PGPC - 80 & PGPC - 156 have two connectors. All connector parts and screws are corrosion resistant bronze or copper.

Steel Pole Ground Plates

MATERIAL: 14 gauge steel.
FINISH: Hot dip galvanized.

APPLICATION: For multigrounded neutral construction. Provides efficient, low resistance neutral ground at low cost. They are less expensive and easier to install than butt wrapping poles with wire and provide a full 56 sq. inches of surface area.

The PGPS - 56S features a high pressure, machined steel connector which accommodates ground wire sizes up to 5/16-inch steel strand. It is furnished with allen or slot type set screw. Specify preference with order.

The PGPS - 56C features a stainless steel compression connector for use with insulated copper or aluminum ground wire. Use "P" die to crimp.

The PGPS - 56CL8 is supplied with 8 feet of #6 soft drawn, neoprene insulated copper wire attached to the plate with a stainless steel compression connector.

Copper Bonded Ground Rods

MATERIAL: High strength carbon steel.
FINISH: Molecularly bonded electrolytic copper.

APPLICATION: Copper covered grounding electrode. Cold drawn for greater strength and rigidity with a uniform covering of molecularly bonded copper. Machined point for easier driving and chamfered top to reduce deformation.

Galvanized Steel Ground Rods

MATERIAL: High strength carbon steel.
FINISH: Hot dip galvanized per ASTM A-153.

APPLICATION: For durable and economical grounding. Features machined point for easier driving with a chamfered top to reduce deformation.

Copper Bonded Sectional Ground Rods

MATERIAL: High strength carbon steel.
FINISH: Molecularly bonded electrolytic copper.

APPLICATION: For deep low-resistance grounding. Same high quality as regular rods, except they are roll threaded at top and bottom for joining together with couplings.

Couplings and Driving Studs

MATERIAL: Couplings are bronze. Driving studs are steel.

APPLICATION: Couplings are high strength corrosion resistant alloy, tapped for use on all standard sectional ground rods. Studs are high strength steel and can be used with all standard couplings.

Bronze Ground Rod Clamps-Standard

MATERIAL: Electrical bronze.

APPLICATION: Provides high pressure contact between copper ground wire and copper bonded ground rods. With stainless steel hex head bolts.

Bronze Ground Rod Clamps-Budget

MATERIAL: Electrical bronze.

APPLICATION: For dependable, low cost grounding in a compact design. With stainless steel hex head bolts.

Ductile Iron Ground Rod Clamps

MATERIAL: Clamp body is ductile iron, grade 654512. The bolt and nut are steel. The washers are bi-metal brass and stainless steel.
FINISH: Body is hot dip galvanized per ASTM A-153. The bolt and nut are galvanized. The brass bi-metal washer is tin plated.

APPLICATION: For use with galvanized ground rods. The RC - 58GW and RC - 34GW are recommended for use with copper ground wire. They feature tin plated bi-metal brass and stainless steel washers which effectively separates the copper ground wire from the galvanized clamp body. This design minimizes galvanic corrosion and increases clamp performance.

Tower Ground Clamps

MATERIAL: Electrical bronze body with silicon bronze hardware. Galvanized steel hardware is available (add suffix “G” to catalog number).
FINISH: Optional tin plating. Add suffix “TP” to catalog number.

APPLICATION: For connecting cable or wire to flat surfaces. Clamp is designed with ribs to retain the bolt head, allowing one wrench installation. Comes in either two-piece or economical one-piece design. Bolt length accommodates 1/4-inch metal thickness. For other applications metal thickness must be specified.

Tower Bonding Clips

MATERIAL: Plate is A-36 steel. Clamp body is ductile iron, grade 654512. Bolt, nut and lockwasher are steel.
FINISH: All parts hot dip galvanized per ASTM A-153.

APPLICATION: For securing ground wire to transmission
structures.

Arcing Horn

MATERIAL: #4 or #2 hard drawn copper wire.

APPLICATION: For protecting conductor hardware from overload surge voltage. Establishes critical P-inch air gap between the pole top pin and ground wire on 14.4/24.9 KV, single phase RUS construction. Can be used with grounded guy, insulated guy or unguyed poles. After installation the arcing horn should be bent to the proper angle to provide a 2-inch gap.

Ground Lug

MATERIAL: A-36 steel cup washer with steel fastener hardware.
FINISH: Hot dip galvanized per ASTM A-153.

APPLICATION: For grounding of equipment mounting brackets, tower legs and various other applications in a simple, economical design. Designed to secure wire between the cupped washer and round washer. Features 3/8 inch hex head machine bolt with two round washers, split lock-washer and hex nut.

Parallel Jumper Clamp

MATERIAL: High strength, high conductivity electrical bronze alloy with silicon bronze bolt and lockwasher.
FINISH: The PJC - 1 is tin plated. The PJC - 2 is unplated. The PJC - 3 is tin plated with the plating removed from one groove.

APPLICATION: Is supplied three ways: tin plated, partially tin plated and plain bronze to accommodate a wide variety of jumper applications. For use with aluminum Amerductor or galvanized steel strand to copper or copper weld ground wire and copper to copper connections.

Transformer Ground Connectors

MATERIAL: High conductivity bronze. Nut and lock-washer are high strength bronze alloy.
FINISH: Optional tin plating. Add suffix “TP” to catalog number.

APPLICATION: For connecting ground wire to standard EEI -NEMA
distribution transformers with 1/2-13 tapped hole. The eyebolt of the TGL - 20 rotates to accommodate either vertical or horizontal ground wire connection. The TGL - 20 also features a hex shoulder for wrench tightening while the TGL - 1 is tightened by placing a wrench on the body.

Water Pipe Ground Clamps

MATERIAL: Electrical bronze casting with plated steel hardware.
FINISH: Optional cadmium plating (add suffix “C” to catalog number). Steel hardware is cadmium plated.

APPLICATION: For connecting ground wire to copper or galvanized water pipe. The clamps are cast of high strength electrical bronze and come in four types, to accommodate various wire connections. The bottom half of the clamps can be inverted for use on smaller diameter pipe. All screws are zinc plated to resist corrosion. For very corrosive areas or direct burial, stainless steel screws are available (add suffix “B” to catalog number).

TYPE 1

For connecting bare copper wire to water pipe. May also be used as a water meter shunt. Has one zinc plated set screw.

TYPE 2

For connecting bare armored or unarmored wire, cable or cord to pipe. Features a zinc plated bar type connector for applying pressure to armor or outer cable insulation.

TYPE 3

For connecting rigid conduit systems to water pipe. Clamping force and protection for the ground wire is provided by a heavy copper washer. For ease of alignment the clamp and hub are adjustable to any position. Features include a threaded cast bronze conduit hub, heavy copper washer and cadmium plated screws.

TYPE 4

For grounding rigid conduit systems to water pipe without directly connecting conduit to pipe. Features all of the design components of the type 3 clamp with the addition of a 3/4” x 7” flexible copper strap.

Staples

MATERIAL: Steel wire.
FINISH: Galvanized or copper coated.

APPLICATION: For fastening ground wire and ground wire molding to mood poles and finishes meet requirements of EEI-NEMA specifications TDJ - 14 and PH14 - 1971.

Ground Wire Clips

MATERIAL: Steel, copper or aluminum.
FINISH: Steel clips are zinc plated.

APPLICATION: For securing ground wires to wood poles. Eliminates radio and television interference by providing large area, high pressure contact with the ground wire. Features easy, single nail installation. Nails must be ordered separately.

Non-Static Ground Wire Clips

MATERIAL: Steel or bronze.
FINISH: Steel clips are zinc plated.

APPLICATION: For securing ground wires to wood poles. Radio and television interference is eliminated by permanent, high pressure contact between the clip and ground wire. To install, the clip is driven into the wood till seated. The ground wire is inserted under the finger. Then the clip is driven till the finger protrudes through the slot. The remaining portion of the body is bent securely over the wire and into the wood.
